2020 is off to a great start, especially when new songs from Drake and Future are dropping. The frequent collaborators have teased new songs and videos since the end of the last decade. There is one thing for certain. The anticipation is now at an all-time high.
In 2015, Drake and Future dropped What A Time To Be Alive. The joint mixtape premiered exclusively on OVO Sound Radio through Apple Music. The mixtape was mostly produced by ATL’s go-to man on the boards, Metro Boomin. WATTBA was supported by both “Jumpman” and “Big Rings.” Future and Drake co-headlined the Summer Sixteen Tour following the mixtape’s release. At the time, the tour was the highest-grossing Hip-Hop tour of all-time. Drake broke that record 2 years later following The Aubrey and Three Migos tour.
Despite the 5-year absence of a WATTBA follow up, they are back at it again to give the people what they want. A couple of teasers have leaked over the past several weeks, including a 25-second snippet of a potential new song. On the melodic track, Future raps:
“You wanna be my number 1, you not acting like the main thing. I let you play my number 2, you barely made the second team.”
In addition to the snippet, Drake posted a picture on his Instagram story early this morning. The story shows the OVO Honcho watching the end to a video over 5 mins. The title on the screen reads, “Life Is Good: Future + Drake.
With the number of teasers, it is only a matter of time before an official release.
